The German automaker has prepared an updated version of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe for the 2025 model year. The Gran Coupe model originally debuted as a four-door alternative to the standard 2 Series, which is based on BMW’s front-wheel drive platform. The 2025 sedan has a refreshed exterior design, an updated cabin with the latest technology and improved powertrains with more power.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine has a revised combustion chamber geometry, dual injection system, and more. It produces 241 horsepower in the 228 sDrive and xDrive variants and 312 hp in the M235 xDrive, while both versions deliver the same 400 nm of torque.

BMW has also replaced the eight-speed automatic transmission with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It provides the M Sport Boost function (with the M Sport package), which adjusts the operation to maximize the vehicle’s acceleration.
The 228 xDrive version can accelerate to 60 mph (96.6 km/h) in 5.8 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than before. The M235 version takes 4.7 seconds to do the same, 0.1 seconds faster than the 2024 model. Although the M235 engine produces more horsepower than before, its torque output has decreased, which has led to this result.

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has slightly increased in size compared to its predecessor. The new sedan is 18 mm longer and 25 mm higher. The width and wheelbase have not changed.
The M Sport styling with large air intakes under the radiator grille is standard across the entire lineup. An embossed number 2 emphasizes the Hofmeister’s curve, while slanted LED taillights frame the rear. 18-inch alloy wheels are standard, and 18- and 19-inch wheels are available as an option, which BMW can equip with the rubber of the user’s choice. The BMW M adaptive suspension is included as standard, but customers can get a traditional suspension at no extra cost. BMW has tuned the car’s suspension to improve handling and comfort.

Inside, the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe features the BMW Curved Display system, which runs on BMW OS 9. The car also has a new gear selector, wireless charger and a standard Harmon/Kardon sound system with 12 speakers. Perforated Veganza, new heated sports seats come as standard. Front seat massage is available for the first time.
The price of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe 2025 (all 3 versions) has increased by $ 1380 compared to the previous year’s version. Now the cost of the initial modification has crossed the $40 thousand mark and starts at $40775. Production will begin later this year at the plant in Leipzig, Germany.
