Boardgames publishers Hachette Boardgames UK and No Loading Games will release a physical version of the «Gwent» card game next year. About writes Eurogamer magazine.
The «Gwent» first appeared in The Witcher 3 (2015) as a mini-game where the protagonist Geralt could compete with different characters in card duels. Players liked the game so much that CD Projekt Red developers created several separate projects: the Thronebreaker story adventure: The Witcher Tales in 2018 and a standalone competitive version for PC and mobile devices.

The physical edition will include more than 400 cards and a game board to fully recreate the experience of the original game. Players will be able to use two sets of rules: simplified — for regular games with friends, and more complex — for tournament competitions. The set will go on sale in the UK in 2025 at a price of 44 pounds sterling (approximately 2350 UAH).
«Gwent is the most significant game within a game in media history», said Robert Townes, marketing manager at Hachette Boardgames UK. According to him, the project will be a great gift for fans of Geralt’s adventures and an exciting game for fans of the competitive format.
CD Projekt Red, which is currently working on a new «Witcher» installment, fully supported the initiative. Recently, the studio announced the start of full-scale production of the next game of the series.
