Another piece of news is the new boss system, or rather, the skipping of bosses. If a player loses a fight with a boss, they will be offered two options: try again or avoid the fight completely. In the latter case, they will see a «visual novel» that will convey the storyline and the consequences of the events related to the boss.

Kojima Productions says that it is important not to deprive the player of context. Skipping a battle doesn’t cut out dialog, story, or universe details — only the combat mechanics themselves. So, if you find it difficult to complete combat segments but still want to follow the story, there’s a solution.

Hardcore players may not expect such generosity, as this applies to the easiest difficulty level. Users had a mixed reaction to the idea: some supported the decision because it would make the game more accessible to people with disabilities. Others believe that the industry is becoming too simplistic and moving away from the challenges that were once the norm. But let’s be honest, in order not to feel simplified, you can simply choose a different level of difficulty or answer option.

What else will change in On the Beach? Kojima said that there was a technological breakthrough in the delivery system.
