Diesel cars are losing popularity in Ukraine: which models are bought most often

In September 2024, more than 5.7 thousand cars with diesel engines were registered in Ukraine. This is 26% less than in the same period of the previous year.

Among all these cars, 1.5 thousand units were new, which is 26% of the total (22% in September 2023). At the same time, the number of new cars with diesel engines was 16% higher than last year.

Used cars accounted for 4.3 thousand units or 74%. This segment saw a significant decrease in vehicle registrations – by 34%.

Among the imported used cars, the share of diesel cars was 25%, which is 6 percentage points less than last year. The average age of such cars is 10.4 years.

1. RENAULT Duster – 406 units;
2. TOYOTA Hilux – 148 units;
3. VOLKSWAGEN Touareg – 100 units;
4. SKODA Kodiaq – 81 units;
5. MITSUBISHI L200 – 69 units.

1. RENAULT Megane – 413 units;
2. SKODA Octavia – 324 units;
3. VOLKSWAGEN Passat – 279 units;
4. NISSAN Qashqai – 226 units;
5. VOLKSWAGEN Golf – 169 units.
