Journalists have published the first reviews of Apple’s new M4-based MacBook Pro models — and before the laptops get into the hands of our reviewers, we offer you to familiarize yourself with some of the main points of the reviews by reputable foreign media.
Major updates to the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro, presented last month these include the next-generation M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips, Thunderbolt 5 ports on higher-end models, display changes, and several other updates. Below is a detailed description of each of the changes.
Display with nanotexture
Antonio Benedetto, The Verge:«I know that glossy screens have a slightly deeper contrast, but I don’t like to worry about glare. I don’t write texts in a dark room with a reference monitor, and I like working in places with sometimes less than ideal lighting conditions. The convenience of the nanotexture outweighs any minor advantages of the glossy display. And for $150 — it’s a must-have upgrade for visual arts professionals».

M4 processor performance
«You won’t see the same level of performance on the M4 Pro or M4 Max, but the standard M4 has some notable improvements over the M3. In the standard Cinebench multicore benchmark, it performed about 64% better than the M3 and maintained a delta of about 41% when running a longer 30-minute cycle of the same test. It has two more cores than the M3 we tested, but the single-core results in Cinebench and Geekbench were also 20% better».
