Google Photos gets a new Updates section: what will it offer users?

Google Photos makes it easier to keep track of activity in your shared albums with the new Updates section. In this section, you can see notifications about changes to shared albums and updates to Google Photos conversations.

You can find the Updates section by clicking on the bell icon that replaced the Sharing button (the two-person icon). Updates are displayed in chronological order, allowing you to view activity by «today, yesterday, this week, this month, last month, and» earlier.

«We want to make it easier to see your recent activity with an interface that makes albums, groups, and conversations more accessible», explains the Google Photos team.

Google also notes that shared albums can now be accessed through the new Collections section.

The new Updates page is already being rolled out to the Google Photos apps for Android and iOS. It may take several weeks to fully roll out in some regions.
