Google Pixel 9a shown in video: what’s new in the budget flagship?

According to rumors, the official release of Google Pixel 9a will take place in a few days. Meanwhile, new leaks have appeared online, including an unboxing video and information from retailers.

Although Google has not yet officially confirmed the release of the new Pixel A series smartphone, there is more and more evidence of an imminent launch. Numerous leaks demonstrate the design and features of the Pixel 9a.

For example, insider Evan Blass has published a series of promotional images of the Pixel 9a, some of which are shown below. Judging by the structure and size of the images, he probably got them from a retailer’s website. Some of the images show Google’s artificial intelligence capabilities, including the Gemini digital assistant. In another leak, the Pixel 9a is mentioned as part of the Pixel 9 line.

Meanwhile, YouTuber Alexis Garcia posted a video showing the retail version of the Pixel 9a. He also showed samples of photos taken with this smartphone. However, it should be remembered that due to the compression of YouTube videos and the likely use of a test version of the software, it is still difficult to assess the real quality of the pictures.

According to the available photos, the Pixel 9a will have a flat display and a flat back, as well as flat sides with rounded corners. A selfie camera is noticeable, located in the center in the form of a hole in the display, as well as rather thin bezels on the sides of the screen. When recording video, a green indicator appears in the upper right corner of the display.

Pixel 9a has a horizontal «pill» camera module with two sensors. The LED flash is located to the right of the module. In the center of the back panel is the Google logo. It is also noted that the back surface is completely flat, without a camera protrusion. The buttons on the side panel are placed in the same way as in previous Pixel models: the volume control is located below the power button.
