GSC Game World announced the sale of one million copies of «S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl» within two days of its release.

The development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has become the most expensive gaming project in Ukraine. According to NAVI founder Oleksandr Kokhanovskyi, the budget of the new installment ranges from $30 to $60 million. Smok Ventures investment partner Tomasz Koscielniak estimates the figure at around $100 million.
Anton Bolshakov, the founder of AB Games and former project leader of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, predicts that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 could become the first Ukrainian game to earn over a billion dollars.
