The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has launched the function of granting a deferral from mobilization in the «Reserve+» ─ application without visiting the military registration and enlistment office and standing in long lines.
«Ukrainians will not have to stand in lines and collect papers to extend the deferral period every three months. The TCC staff will be relieved of an additional burden. Most importantly, by launching online deferments, we continue to replenish the ecosystem of products for people liable for military service that help them solve issues not in lines, but with a few minutes and a smartphone,» said Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernogorenko.
The following categories of persons liable for military service can apply for a deferment online in «Reserve+»:
- people with disabilities who have a valid disability pension certificate;
- undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students who receive their education in a sequential order. For example, after obtaining a bachelor’s degree, they get a master’s degree. Or, after a master’s degree, they go on to a PhD program.
In the future, large families with 3 or more minor children in one marriage will also be able to take advantage of the new opportunity. Currently, a beta test is still underway for this category of persons liable for military service.
Online deferment in «Reserve+» works as follows. A person liable for military service who is eligible for a deferment must log in to the «Reserve+» application and send a request through the menu in the form of an orange circle with three horizontal dots. The system will check whether you are eligible for a deferral. If so, this status will be reflected in the electronic military record.
It is noted that people with disabilities will receive a deferral for a year or until the end of their pension certificate. Students, postgraduates and doctoral students will receive a deferment until the end of martial law and mobilization.
The Ministry of Defense is working to make online deferments available to other categories of citizens.
To apply for a deferment in «Reserve+», you need to download the latest version of the application from the AppStore or PlayMarket. It is also worth noting that the current deferrals are valid until November 9 inclusive. You can apply for a new deferral only after the current one expires. Thus, the new opportunity will be available from November 10. You should be prepared for the fact that due to the large number of people wishing to apply for a deferral online through «Reserve+», the application may work unstably.
