Apple released the iPhone SE 3 in 2022. Since then, there have been no updates of the «budget» smartphone model from Apple. However, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be its successor and will be released in the first quarter of 2025. Although the company itself has not yet made any official statements, South Korean publication ET News shared information about camera updates for the iPhone SE 4, thus confirming some previous rumors.
While the iPhone SE 3 had a 12-megapixel main camera and a 7-megapixel front camera, the iPhone SE 4 will be equipped with higher resolution sensors. The main camera is credited with a 48-megapixel sensor, and the front camera with a 12-megapixel sensor.
According to the source, the front and rear camera modules for the new iPhone SE will be supplied by LG Innotek. It is expected that these will be the same cameras as in the upcoming iPhone 16, except for the ultra-wide-angle camera, which will not be in the iPhone SE 4.
In addition to LG Innotek, cameras for the iPhone SE 4 will also be supplied by Foxconn and Cowell Electronics. As for the OLED displays, Apple plans to source them from LG Display and BOE, with LG Display supplying 25% to 35% of the panels.
