The deal to buy Uklon taxi service from «Kyivstar» is expected to be finalized by the end of March. The parties have reached an agreement. According to preliminary data, the deal value may exceed $100 million. This was reported by the resource Dou.ua with reference to Scroll.media.
Previously, the analytical department of Forbes Ukraine evaluated the current value of Uklon at $40-80 million. However, after lengthy negotiations, the current owners of Uklon managed to convince the buyer that the company’s business is worth much more. Now that the parties have reached an agreement, the only thing left to do is to officially sign the documents.
«Uklon is well done for being able to defend this price. This is a big, cool business, a market leader with growth prospects,», — a representative of the investment bank comments on the figures on condition of anonymity.
As a reminder, «Kyivstar» showed interest in buying Uklon last spring. In early February 2025 The AMCU allowed «Kyivstar» to buy Uklon.
Currently «Kyivstar» is in the process of entering the Nasdaq stock exchange. The company is making an IPO bypass – through the SPAC (Special-Purpose Acquisition Company) mechanism. With Uklon’s service, operators can better position themselves when entering the stock exchange – not as a telecommunications company, but as a digital company.
It is expected that after the deal closes, Uklon will continue to operate as a separate brand and its team will remain in place. At the same time, the service will receive investments from the new owner for further development and will be able to enter new markets. The agreement with «Kyivstar» will allow the company to enter the markets where «Veon’s subsidiaries» operate more easily. The parent company «Kyivstar» also has operators in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
