More than 600,000 Ukrainians have changed operators with number portability. One — is in the top by a huge margin

As of December 1st, 647,845 Ukrainians have used the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service since its launch. Such data is provided by the Mediasat publication with reference to the report from the National Commission that carries out state regulation in the fields of electronic communications, radio frequency spectrum, and postal services (NKEK).

• Mobile Number Portability (MNP) — is a service that allows a subscriber to switch from one mobile operator to another while keeping the same phone number (i.e., all digits, including the operator’s code, remain unchanged). The service in Ukraine is offered free of charge to subscribers, and starting January 1, operators will introduce a common audible signal to indicate that you are calling a ported number.

Meanwhile, nearly 70% of users (446,915) chose lifecell, which significantly outpaced Vodafone Ukraine and “Kyivstar” (with these operators having 114,509 and 83,331 ported number recipients respectively). Fourth and fifth place were taken by “TriMob” and “Intertelecom” — with 1,552 and 1,538 numbers respectively.

In 2024, 251,595 subscribers used the MNP service, with about 79% (199,481) also choosing lifecell, 38,097 subscribers switched to Vodafone Ukraine, 13,903 — to “Kyivstar”, 73 to “Intertelecom”, and 41 to “TriMob”.

Meanwhile, the total number of requests for the number porting service amounts to 1,039,892.

Let us remind you that the total number of subscribers of the three largest mobile operators in Ukraine was 51.5 million users in 2023 (no full reports for the current year yet):

• “Kyivstar” — 23.9 million
• Vodafone — 15.9 million
• Lifecell — 11.7 million
