OnePlus has officially unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13, powered by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The novelty also has a flagship BOE display, IP69 protection (now withstands exposure to high-pressure liquids) and a larger 6000 mAh battery.
When designing the OnePlus 13, engineers abandoned the curves of the display available in its predecessors. Instead, they switched to a 2.5D quad-curved structure. The display looks flat but has small curves on all sides. As a result, the OnePlus 13 is slightly shorter than its predecessor, but has a diagonal of 6.82 inches.
OnePlus 13 received the flagship X2 display from BOE. This is an 8T LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 1440p and a variable refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. The typical brightness is now 800 nits, and the maximum brightness is 4500 nits. Another new addition is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in OnePlus 13 is complemented by 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of internal storage. The battery has increased to 6000 mAh. The device supports 100W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Another addition that is not noticeable from the outside is a new vibration motor with «game controller-level» feedback. The manufacturer claims that with a volume of 602 mm³, it is the largest vibration motor ever installed in an Android phone.
The rear panel houses a triple camera with a Hasselblad lease, which contains 50-megapixel sensors. The main module is based on the Sony LYT-808 sensor, has an optical image stabilization system and a 23 mm focal length lens. The telephoto module based on the Sony LYT-600 sensor has a periscopic design and a 3x optical zoom (73 mm). The ultra-wide-angle module with macro function is based on the Samsung S5KJN5 sensor and a 15 mm focal length lens.
The Chinese version of the smartphone runs ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. International devices are expected to be released with OxygenOS 15.
The new OnePlus 13 smartphone will go on sale in China on November 1 in white, obsidian and blue colors. The international version will be released later.
