Pebble founder Eric Michigowski presented two smartwatch models that revive his brand — Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2.
The Core 2 Duo is almost identical to the Pebble 2, but enhanced with modern components — black and white e-paper display, IPX8 protection, speaker, barometer, and compass. The watch offers up to 30 days of operation on a single charge (the original Pebble had 7) and a price of $149 with delivery from July.

Core Time 2 — is essentially a new version of Pebble Time 2, which never saw the light of day. The smartwatch has a 1.5-inch 64-color display, metal body, touchscreen, heart rate monitoring, and 30 days of battery life, but at a price of $225 and delivery in December.

If you are not familiar with Pebble, here is some information: the Palo Alto-based startup became one of the first breakthroughs of the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform back in 2012 when it created a smartwatch long before the Apple Watch and other Android-based alternatives appeared.
Despite the fact that Pebble managed to sell more than 2 million devices, the company suddenly closed in 4 years due to loss of solvency, and the rest was purchased by Fitbit, which is now a division of Google. Last year, Pebble founder Eric Michigowski had a bold idea: to bring the world back to simpler and cheaper smartwatches using PebbleOS as the basis. Google went along with it and opened the source code of the operating system.
Michigowski’s new company is called Core Devices, so the names of the new smartwatches are appropriate.
«This project is a labor of love, not a startup trying to sell millions of watches. There may be some rough edges (literally). Some features won’t be ready for launch. Something might break. Something won’t work as long as you would like it to. The only thing we can guarantee is that it will be great and a lot of fun! Every time you look at your watch, you will smile», — wrote Michikowski’s blog.
It is worth noting that even 9 years after its closure, Pebble has a fairly active community of volunteers who from time to time release updates for smartwatchesSo Michigowski seems to have no shortage of buyers.
