During the week leading up to “Black Friday” (this year it fell on November 29), PrivatBank customers made 68.5 million non-cash purchases in the bank’s acquiring network, totaling over ₴23.7 billion (an increase of 22.5% compared to last year).

During the week of sales, the “Pay in Parts” service was used to purchase 79.7 thousand items totaling ₴1.3 billion — 11% more than last year. Most commonly, customers bought power banks and charging stations, furniture, smartphones, other electronics, and home appliances, with the average purchase amounting to ₴16,361.

Directly on “Black Friday,” PrivatBank clients made 10.8 million purchases, spending a record ₴4 billion — 22% more than in 2023. The top sellers were supermarkets and electronics stores. The bank also reports a new record for purchases made on installment that day, which was 38% higher than last year’s figures — the number of purchases exceeded 14 thousand units, totaling ₴236 million.

Let us remind you that according to an analysis by Forbes Ukraine the average check of Ukrainians on “Black Friday” started from ₴5000, and the top sales included smartphones and TVs. Meanwhile, a survey by Viber conducted on the eve of Black Friday showed that 64% of citizens do not believe in discounts during this period, but a third plan to purchase clothing and only 12% — gadgets.
