Rare AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is sold in bundles with other components – from $639 and one per buyer

Published by Vadym Karpus

Since its release, the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor has been in short supply. Its quantity on store shelves was limited, and prices were higher than recommended. It was often resold at a speculative markup. To counteract this, Newegg has resorted to a trick and sells the processor in a bundle with other high-quality components, such as AMD’s flagship X870 and X870E series motherboards, CPU coolers, and graphics cards such as the RX 7900 XT or RX 7900 XTX.

For reference, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D has a recommended price of $479, but it is difficult to find it on sale. At the same time, speculators were selling this model at a large markup (up to $1000).

So, if you’re ready to upgrade to the AM5 platform, Newegg’s kits might be a good solution to the shortage. All kits are limited to only one set per customer.

The most affordable kit combines a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor with a Corsair iCUE H115i Elite Capellix XT cooler. This set costs $639. Separately, they sell for $479 and $179, so the bundle even saves you a few dollars. It’s not a bad deal if you’re building a new computer.

Meanwhile, the cheapest motherboard bundle consists of the Gigabyte X870 GAMING WiFi 6, which costs $649. The motherboard offers four DIMM slots with memory support for up to DDR5-8200, 2.5 GbE LAN, three x16 PCIe slots, and three M.2 slots for storage.

Next up is the Ryzen 7 9800X3D in combination with MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi for $749. For $779, you can get a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and a Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite WiFi 7 motherboard. A set with Asus ROG Strix Crosshair X870E Hero costs more than $1100.
