Registrations of used cars under 5 years old increased by 60%: what types and models are most popular?

In the first three quarters of 2024, Ukrainians purchased 50.1 thousand used cars imported from abroad that were less than 5 years old. This is 60% more than in the first 9 months of 2023.

It should be noted that in the period from January to September 2024, 176 thousand used cars were registered for the first time in Ukraine. Thus, vehicles less than 5 years old accounted for more than 28% of this number.

Interestingly, electric cars accounted for the largest share of imported passenger cars in this segment. They accounted for 40% of the total.

The most popular used cars up to 5 years old by powertrain type:

1. Electric cars – 40%;
2. Gasoline cars accounted for 39%;
3. Diesel cars – 10%;
4. Hybrid cars – 7%;
5. Cars with LPG – 4%.

3. HYUNDAI Kona – 1635 units;
4. NISSAN Rogue – 1622 units;
5. MAZDA CX5 – 1598 units;

7. VOLKSWAGEN Golf – 1144 units;
8. NISSAN Leaf – 1078 units;
9. KIA Niro – 998 units;
10. AUDI Q5 – 966 units.
