Everyone likes the sound of a bank account being replenished. Monobank co-founder Oleg Horokhovskyi shared when it can be heard in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
According to the businessman, the sound appears during the completion of the most expensive merchant quest, except for searching for artifacts. Horokhovskyi also spoke about how the sound appeared in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and about communication with GSC Game World:
“Once we thought: ‘There will be many payments in Stalker, why don’t we put our sounds there? As if mono handles all the payments.’ Sounds like an impossible idea, but why not offer it? GSC responded: ‘Great idea, but very crazy. We can’t put it for every payment — it would ruin the immersion experience in the game world. We need to think about how to add it more subtly’.”
As a result, the sound is not played every time a reward is paid, but only in some rare cases. Also, the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 added a cat, the symbol of monobank, into the game as a sticker.
“If I say that we paid nothing for integration into the game, would you believe me? But you should — it’s true.”
Oleg Horokhovskyi recalled that the bank created a “special PDA sound for gaming payments,” a clothing option for their cat, and a card design in the style of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
