Suzuki e VITARA: the company’s first electric crossover will offer an autonomy of up to 500 km

The Suzuki company has unveiled its first mass-market electric vehicle model, the —e VITARA. The car is based on the eVX concept shown in 2023.

The Suzuki e VITARA is based on the HEARTECT-e platform, specially designed for electric vehicles. The car is a crossover with large wheels and a long wheelbase. The power plant combines an electric motor, an inverter and a lithium-iron-phosphate battery.

The car is offered in several variants with different batteries and motors. The basic front-wheel drive version is equipped with a 49 kWh battery and a 106 kW motor with 189 nm of torque. A front-wheel drive version is also available with a 61 kWh battery and a more powerful motor (128 kW, 189 nm). The all-wheel drive version has a 61 kWh battery, and in addition to the 128 kW motor, another 48 kW motor is available on the rear axle. In this case, the total power is 135 kW and the torque is 300 nm. The range for the base model is about 400 km, and for versions with a larger battery, it is about 500 km.

The Suzuki e VITARA has a total length of 4275 mm, a width of 1800 mm, a height of 1635 mm and a wheelbase of 2700 mm. Weight, depending on the configuration of the power plant, is 1702-1899 kg. The ground clearance is 180 mm.

Production of the first Suzuki electric vehicle will begin in the spring of 2025, and sales are expected to begin in various countries, including Europe, around the summer of 2025. Prices and additional features will be announced later. According to preliminary data, the price will start at $25 thousand.
