Hugo Weaving has confirmed that he will return for the 6 season of «Slow Horses» to reprise his role as Frank — the former CIA agent and father of Jack Louden.
In the comments Variety actor said that early next year he will travel to London for filming, which will potentially last for 2.5 months.
Despite the fact that the release date of the fifth season of «Slow Horses» is still unknown (we assume that it is spring-fall 2025), Apple TV+ has already extended the show for a sixth seasonbased on Mick Herron’s novels «Joe Country» and «Slough House» (the sixth and seventh books in the series that formed the basis of the series).
«Each season usually corresponds to one book, but we’re a little behind at the moment. We’re now coming to the point where we’re catching up with the number of novels written by Mick Herron»,” said Weaving.
«Slow Horses» is, without a doubt, one of the best creations of Apple TV+. The series departed from the standard spy action movies that portray agents as superhero-like and easily solving any problem, and instead focused on a department of misfit spies led by a cruel and ill-mannered but very charismatic boss played by Gary Oldman.
The first season debuted on streaming in 2022, and it seems that since then the series has not lowered the bar — the fourth season, for example, has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. We hope that the next seasons will be just as successful, and that Olivia Cooke will at least drop the «Dragon’s Den» in the sixth season and finally reveal Sid’s fate.
