The MGM+ streaming service has unveiled the first footage from the «Institute» series based on the novel by Stephen King. The film adaptation is scheduled to premiere in 2025.

In the released image, you can see the main character Luke, played by Joe Freeman. The young man is connected to a device that monitors his vital signs. He has a look of horror on his face, and behind him, a laboratory worker is recording the data.
The first image was shown at the Content London festival, which was attended by MGM+ CEO Michael Wright, director and executive producer Jack Bender, and screenwriter and executive producer Benjamin Cavell.
The series also stars Mary-Louise Parker, Ben Barnes, Jason Diaz, Simone Miller and other actors.
The novel «Institute», published in September 2019, tells the story of teenager Luke Ellis. After the murder of his parents in the suburbs of Minneapolis, the boy finds himself in a mysterious institution with other children who have supernatural abilities — telepathy and telekinesis. At the Institute, they are subjected to cruel experiments under the direction of Mrs. Sigsby. No one has ever managed to escape from there, but Luke does not give up hope for rescue.
