Kia has announced the European launch of its compact and affordable EV3 crossover. In addition to these benefits, it also offers a segment-leading driving range.
The EV3 is Kia’s first purpose-built compact electric crossover, and it is “ready for all journeys and lifestyles in Europe”. According to Kia, the new electric vehicle has undergone “extensive testing” in Europe on a variety of road types, including highways, city streets and winding roads.
The Kia EV3 is one of the most efficient electric vehicles on the market with a range of up to 603 km. In the city, with Kia i-Pedal technology and regenerative braking, you can achieve up to 771 km of range.
The Kia EV3 is available in Europe with 58.3 kWh or 81.4 kWh batteries. The electric vehicle supports fast charging (10% to 80%) in 29 minutes with the 58.3 kWh battery. The larger battery (81.4 kWh) can be charged to 80% in 31 minutes.
The EV3 is 4300 mm long, 1850 mm wide and 1560 mm high. Despite its compact size, the new model has a living room-style interior. It is equipped with the latest software and communication technologies from Kia, including the new ccNC infotainment system. The system features two 12.3-inch screens for navigation and driver, with a —5.3-inch climate control screen in between for easy access.
Kia said that the EV3 is already available in Europe at a price of 36,000 euros ($38,300).
In Korea, the EV3 will start at $30,700 (42.08 million KRW). Thanks to government subsidies, this model can be purchased for less than $30,000 (39.95 million KRW).
Kia plans to increase production of the EV3 due to high demand for this affordable electric vehicle. In Europe, Kia plans to sell more than 9,000 EV3 models in an effort to strengthen its market share in the region.
