Steven Knight, the creator and screenwriter of the original « Peaky Blinders» series, said that the feature-length adaptation of the story will debut in theaters before appearing on Netflix.
«I really want the fans of ” Peaky Blinders” to watch the movie all together in the same building,» Knight said in an interview The Playlist. «All communication was virtual, but I want the movie to be released in theaters».
The original « Peaky Blinders» series aired on Netflix for six seasons from 2013 to 2022, and a feature-length version was officially announced in June 2024. Knight is producing the film and Tom Harper, who directed the first episodes of the series, is set to direct it — while Cillian Murphy will reprise her role as Thomas Shelby on the big screen.
According to Knight, the production of the film was completed in December — so in addition to the first footage, we expect a teaser or a full trailer in the near future.

We would like to remind you that earlier the movie about the gang of the Peaky Blinders was officially named The Immortal Manbut the details are still being kept under wraps. Knight hinted that the plot will encompass two «intertwined» stories — with one focusing on the younger generation of the Shelby clan.
In addition to Murphy, the cast of the film includes Stephen Graham, Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan and Tim Roth. The premiere date is still unknown.
