Priest, far-right political commentator and former games journalist Calvin Robinson imitated the Nazi salute during a speech against abortion on January 25, directly referring to Elon Musk’s infamous «gesture» after Donald Trump’s inauguration.
My heart goes out to you.

Later, Robinson said that it was a «joke» and that he was in fact «not a Nazi», but the Anglican Catholic Church reacted instantly — and defrocked the man.
«Although we do not know what was in Mr. Robinson’s heart at the time, we assume that his actions were an attempt to gain the approval of certain elements of the American political right and provoke their opposition», the church said. «However, those who imitate the Nazi salute, even as a joke or an attempt to troll their opponents, diminish the horror of the Holocaust».
Robinson, in addition to his political and religious activities, also owned the gaming site God is a Geek and served as its executive editor from 2009 to 2016. His last article was published in 2019 and was dedicated to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. He has also contributed content to Disney’s YouTube channel Yogscast, Bros with Fros, and has served as a judge at the Games Media Awards, MCV Awards, and eSports Industry Awards.
In recent years, the editorial staff of God is a Geek «worked independently of Robinson», but he was still its owner. After Calvin’s «Nazi gesture, all editors resigned, and one of the authors announced the creation of a new publication.
«We do not support, endorse, or condone the policies or actions of Calvin Robinson», the editors said.
Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, who made a similar gesture at Trump’s inauguration, seems to have suffered no negative consequences from his actions (except perhaps massive references to it in the media and social networks).

He continues to be an advisor to Trump and oversees the work of the Office of Management and Budget in the new president’s administration.
«The joke at the end was a mockery of the hysterical “liberals” who called Elon Musk a Nazi for clearly showing the audience that he was with them in heart», Robinson wrote, after posting a video of his speech on X. «Context is key, but sometimes people ignore it to confirm their own prejudices».
