In 2024, over 30 Ukrainian IT companies, surveyed by the DOU site, hired 2,970 juniors in the field — for comparison, back in 2022 the figure was a thousand higher, but about 40 enterprises participated in the survey then.
Among the top five leaders in hiring juniors in Ukraine are Genesis, EPAM, SoftServe, Netpeak Group, GlobalLogic.
Genesis tops the ranking for the second consecutive year and in 2024 hired 781 professionals (almost twice as many as last year). EPAM hired 480 professionals in Ukraine — compared to 211 last year, SoftServe — 327 compared to 187 in 2023, and at GlobalLogic, the hiring of juniors has remained stable over the last three years — 50-200 per year.
Eight companies from the total surveyed hired at least 100 juniors each. Leading vacancies are in Support and Software Engineering, with positive dynamics also noted in QA, Marketing, Admin & Operations, Analyst, Design, DevOps, Product Manager categories. Hiring of juniors has decreased in SEO and Project Manager directions, while the Data category exceeded 100 hires for the first time.
In 2024, 221 junior hires were made abroad (last year, for comparison, this number reached 86, and in 2023 — 185 across 40 companies).
Companies most often hire professionals through internal recommendations, their own websites and job search sites, including niche ones (like Djinni and DOU), university partnership programs, social networks, and their own educational projects.
Looking at the geography, 26.7% of junior hires were in Kyiv and its region, and 15.6% in Lviv. Last year, these two cities also led with 47.8% and 18.5% respectively.
Next year, at least six surveyed companies plan to hire 50-200 juniors, while two are aiming for 200+ hires. The most ambitious plans in this case belong to EPAM, which is set to attract 800+ juniors.

GlobalLogic in 2025 has set a target of 300+ juniors, and ZONE3000 plans for 200-500 professionals depending on the economic situation in Ukraine and business conditions.
