The mobile application «Ukrenergo» has been launched in Ukraine to help users balance electricity consumption and receive information about the state of the grid in their region.
The application was created within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and NPC «Ukrenergo» with the Danish Energy Agency, and is already available for download: in Google PlayandApp Store.
The goal of the development is to minimize electricity consumption by consumers during periods of limited supply and avoid emergency outages.
«It is convenient for people to understand the current situation in the power system, and for us — it is the most efficient way to communicate directly with the consumer. This is important if there is a need to call on residents of a particular region or the country as a whole — to turn off powerful electrical appliances to help the power system», — said Vitalii Zaichenko, member of the Board of NPC «Ukrenergo».
On the main screen of the «Ukrenergo» app, consumers can get acquainted with the state of the power system in real time, as well as with planned changes. Users will also be provided with recommendations on what consumption restrictions should be introduced to maintain the system.

It is also possible to view the history of the network status (and, judging by it, the app will also provide information about emergency or planned outages).
