Apple said it is working on fixing a bug on some iPhones that caused alarms to fail to play at the set time.
The problem was first reported on NBC’s TODAY Show — after users started posting complaints on social media. It is not known how widespread the bug is, but it does not affect all users.

Apple has not said when the patch will arrive, but MacRumors suggestsand that it may be included in a future iOS 17.4.2 or iOS 17.5 software update.
It is assumed that the problem is related to the «Attention Aware» — parameter that allows the device to control the user’s attention. For example, if the iPhone owner is looking at the device (detected by the front camera) — the phone can lower the volume of notifications. The option is probably currently working by mistake: to disable it, go to the Settings menu and scroll down to «Face ID & Passcode».
