Unofficially, it’s known that Acer is gearing up to announce new portable consoles Nitro Blaze 11 and Nitro Blaze 8 at CES 2025. The number in the name corresponds to the screen size.
Acer Nitro Blaze 11 and 8 will be based on AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors. The current model, Nitro Blaze 7, is equipped with a Ryzen 7 8840U processor (Hawk Point), so upgrading to the new Strix Point series based on Zen 5 seems logical.
The Nitro Blaze 7 console came to the market relatively late and hasn’t reached the popularity level of ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, MSI Claw, and especially the Steam Deck. Here’s a list of portable consoles that are likely to be showcased at CES 2025:
- Lenovo Legion Go 2025 (Ryzen Z2 Extreme)
- Lenovo Legion Go S (Ryzen Z2 Go)
- Lenovo Legion Go SteamOS Edition
- ZOTAC Zone 2 (Ryzen AI 300)
- MSI Claw 8 AI+ (Core Ultra 200V)
- MSI Claw 7 AI+ (Core Ultra 200V)
- Acer Nitro Blaze 11 (Ryzen AI 300)
- Acer Nitro Blaze 8 (Ryzen AI 300)
Acer is trying to create a portable console that could compete with its rivals and be powerful enough. However, the key factors in this market will likely be cost and battery life. More details about the new Acer Nitro Blaze might be revealed after AMD’s press conference at CES.
