Постер нових відеокарт Radeon / AMD
According to leaks, AMD is switching up the naming of its RDNA 4 video cards to something more along the lines of NVIDIA. Also, a possible benchmark for the Radeon RX 9070 XT has been shown online.
Editor and reviewer Chiphell nApoleon, who has a significant track record thanks to close ties with many Chinese brands, talked about AMD’s video card naming changes. The company doesn’t plan to release Radeon 8800 XT or 9800 XT — AMD will skip the 8000 series on desktops and directly launch the 9000 series, placing the number at the third position, similar to their main competitor.
The naming partially coincides with the upcoming integrated video card Radeon 8060S, the test of which recently appeared in PassMark. With a score (16454), these video cards can compete with the discrete RTX 3060. These GPUs are built on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, which adds a bit of logic to the 90X0 desktop samples on newer chips.
Also, earlier one of AMD’s partners reported plans to release Radeon 90 video cards, confirming the nine in the name, but declined to reveal details. However, it was also revealed that the desktop Radeon 8000 had been planned earlier, and a name change occurred.
Information from another source indicates that Radeon RX 9060 and RX 9050 will have a 128-bit memory bus, while the budget RX 9040 will receive a 96-bit. As for the newer discrete video cards for laptops on RDNA 4, there are RX 9070M XT, RX 9070M, and RX 9070S.
AMD has also effectively revealed the design of its upcoming desktop video cards on its Reddit, which looks unlike any other samples. It seems likely this promo concerns the Radeon RX 9070 XT. The site VideoCardz prepared a comparative table of the known characteristics of the new video cards.
