Apple will repair the iPhone 14 Plus with a very unpleasant camera defect. It is inherent in few devices, but it was built into the production.
Due to a malfunction, the main camera Apple iPhone 14 Plus does not display a preview, which makes shooting not very convenient. The company emphasizes that the defect has a very small percentage devices, namely the batch manufactured on April 10, 2023, through April 28, 2024. It is not known how many iPhone 14 Pluses were manufactured during this period, but the gap of a year seems significant.
The company has announced a service program to correct the defect, under which repairs will be provided free of charge. Its terms and conditions are available on a special page.
«If your iPhone 14 Plus experiences this issue, use the serial number checker below to see if your device is eligible for this program. If it is, Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will provide service at no charge».
Apple goes on to briefly describe how to find an authorized service provider and take advantage of the offer. The company emphasizes that «this worldwide Apple program does not extend the standard iPhone 14 Plus warranty». The program is valid for three years from the date of the first retail sale of the device.
Apple launches similar programs from time to time in case of malfunctions. At one time, it concerned receivers on iPhone 12 or 12 Pro phones and debugging AirPods Pro that made a crackling or static sound.
