Call of Duty player challenged lifecell owner to a real fight — billionaire Xavier Niel came

Published by Andrii Rusanov

Sometimes you just need to show character to win a fight. A gamer asked a French telecom tycoon to «to get out», owner operator lifecell — but did not treat it responsibly.

«The invitation» in X Twitter was as follows:

«Xavier Niel, I hate you, I propose to [meet] you face to face in front of the Lidl store on rue Saint in Marseille».

To everyone’s surprise, Xavier Niel came. He posted a photo of himself outside the store with the caption «I’m waiting». After that, the Internet daredevil was quite expectedly scared: «Sorry, I was joking». But this answer did not satisfy Niel. The angry businessman recorded a short video outside the store.

«I’m here! I’m waiting for you! … Where are you?! Come on! Do you want to meet me in the parking lot?!»

This response caused the CoD player to react even more miserably:

«I would love to, but the temperature is 34.2 [!] + abdominal pain + headache — I give up».

The situation needs to be explained.

The player wrote that «was lagging behind» Call of Duty and «lost his stamina», but he did not mean «was serious». Both sides don’t give much detail about the circumstances of the conflict, so let’s try to figure it out. In addition to the Ukrainian lifecell, Xavier Niel’s company Iliad owns the French operator Free Mobile and the Internet provider Free. Probably, it was the network lags that angered the gamer.

Lidl also did not stand aside and published a joke message.

«Please come and pick up the man who has been tweeting all morning outside a shop on rue Saint in Marseille».

One commenter on X wondered how the billionaire was not afraid to «shine» his own location in real time — this could be used by third-party attackers. Others blamed Niel for poor communication and the leakage of data from the mobile operator’s users.
