Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reportsthat Apple has reduced the number of iPhone 16 orders by 10 million units — with the reduction mostly affecting cheaper models, as demand for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max is still showing good performance.
As a result, total iPhone 16 production volumes for the second half of 2024 are estimated at 84 million units (88 million). Kuo clarifies that the 10 million-unit reduction covers a full three quarters: from the end of 2024 to the first half of 2025.
Earlier, the analyst wrote that overall sales of the iPhone 16 were quite high, but demand for the «cheaper» models — iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus — was much weaker than expected. By the way, in Ukraine, the most popular model among the new iPhones at the start of preorders was the iPhone 16 Pro Max 256 GB in bronze color (according to the Allo network), which costs UAH 70,999 thousand.
We remind you that on next Thursday, Apple will release its quarterly earnings report, while a day or two before that — will introduce new Macs with M4 chips.
