This is a loud statement because Marvel is well-known for its secrecy and is definitely not used to announcing projects through actors’ social networks. There is no official confirmation yet, and Marvel Studios has not commented on Diesel’s words.
Although, the idea of making a movie about Groot makes sense, since he is one of the most popular characters in «Guardians of the Galaxy». In 2022 and 2023, Disney+ released «I Am Groot» shorts. Potentially, a movie about Groot could be part of a bigger story with other Guardians, not just a solo movieJames Gunn’s latest movie, «Guardians of the Galaxy 3», left many open questions. At least, as we know from the credits, Peter Quill’s Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) «will return». If Marvel does decide to develop this line, the story of Groot’s home planet could be a good bridge for the return of the characters.
