Video game developer David Jaffe said on Twitter that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was his favorite game of 2024. «I just love it!» — the creator of God of War shared his impressions.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is probably my favorite game of the year. I just adore it!
It’s also-IMO-about 20% too long.

However, despite the general enthusiasm, Jaffe drew attention to the only significant drawback of the project — its excessive length. According to him, the game could be shortened by 20%.
Jaffe’s opinion is supported by the professional community. In particular, the DSOGaming publication recognized Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as a technological breakthrough of 2024. Experts especially noted the implementation of ray tracing and the detail of 3D character models. The success of the game is also confirmed by the ratings on the Metacritic aggregator, where the project received a high 88 out of 100 points.
It is worth reminding that David Jaffe, who created the original God of War in 2005 but did not participate in the development of the new installments in the series — God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök (2022) — has been quite critical of the changes in the franchise lately. He has repeatedly expressed his dissatisfaction with the new direction of the series and has been particularly critical of the image of Atreus, who called «a horrible character on the visual and game levels».
