The global version of the tri-folding smartphone Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design was presented in Kuala Lumpur. As a reminder, this device was introduced in China last fall.
Huawei dominates the foldable smartphone market in China, and now the company is ready to enter the international market with its most advanced model. The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is the thinnest folding smartphone to date, with an unfolded thickness of just 3.6 mm (excluding the camera module). At the same time, it is the largest folding smartphone that can be compactly folded to the size of a regular phone. Its 10.2-inch display is covered with 322 cm² of ultra-thin glass (UTG).

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design has a 6.4-inch screen with FHD+ (2232×1008) resolution when folded. When one hinge is opened (halfway, so to speak), the screen diagonal increases to 7.9 inches and the resolution increases to 2K (2232×2048). Finally, when fully expanded, the smartphone turns into a 10.2-inch tablet with a 3K screen (2232×3184). This model uses an LTPO OLED panel with a high-frequency PWM dimming of 1440 Hz and a maximum sensor sampling rate of 240 Hz.

The smartphone has a proprietary Kirin 9010 processor (1 Taishan Big 2.3 GHz core + 3 Taishan Mid 2.18 GHz cores + 4 Cortex-A510 1.55 GHz cores + Maleoon 910 GPU). Although the Chinese counterpart offers different memory configurations, only one version of Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design will be available on the global market. This is a top-of-the-line modification with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The battery capacity is 5600 mAh. This model uses the world’s thinnest carbon-silicon battery with a thickness of only 1.9 mm. It supports 66W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The main camera is borrowed from the Pura 70 Pro – it’s a 50-megapixel sensor with a 10-stop variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0. In addition, the smartphone is equipped with a 12-megapixel periscopic telephoto camera (125 mm) and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design in the 16 GB + 1 TB memory configuration will cost €3499 on the global market. In Ukraine, this novelty is currently available for pre-order at a price of more than half a million UAH.
Oppo Find N5 foldable smartphone is expected to be presented soon, which claims to be the world’s «thinnest».
