Microsoft has canceled the 14-day trial period of Game Pass for $1 ahead of the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6The game is coming out on October 25, repeating the strategy used before the release of Starfield last year.
Black Ops 6 will be the first game in the Call of Duty series to be available on Game Pass on the day of release. This comes a year after acquisition Microsoft to Activision Blizzard for $69 billion. Earlier, Diablo 4 and Modern Warfare 3 were added to the service, and in November, the following titles are expected StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection.
The release of Black Ops 6 in Game Pass is a risky move for Microsoft. The company expects that the popularity of Call of Duty will increase the number of subscribers and profits, but this may lead to a decrease in sales of the full version of the game. Xbox management claims that the presence of the game in Game Pass can increase its sales, but some publishers doubt it. Former Activision boss Bobby Kotick, for example, has always been against releasing Call of Duty in subscription services.
