Matt Damon has announced that he will return for another movie in the Bourne franchise. The film is titled «The Bourne Dilemma» and will be directed by Edward Berger.
The movie appeared on the list of Production Weekly. It also states that Berger has agreed to direct. He is known for the films «All Quiet on the Western Front» and this year’s detective thriller «Conclave».
In total, five Jason Bourne spy action thrillers have been made, the first three were undisputed hits — they are «The Bourne Identity» (2002) directed by Doug Liman, «The Bourne Supremacy» (2004) and «The Bourne Ultimatum» (2007) by Paul Greengrass. Matt Damon played the lead role in each of them.
The last two films of the franchise, «The Bourne Legacy» (2012) by Tony Gilroy and «Jason Bourne» (2016) are not considered successful, although the latter was directed by Paul Greengrass and produced and starred Matt Damon again. The release time and other details of «The Bourne Supremacy» are still unknown.
