Samsung unveiled a full-fledged mixed reality headset, Project Moohan XR, set to release in 2025. It will operate on the newly introduced Android XR OS.
The Samsung Project Moohan XR headset is a competitor to Apple Vision Pro. The codename Project Moohan leaked earlier, and now it’s officially confirmed by Samsung. “Moohan” means “infinity” in Korean, which, according to Samsung, signifies a commitment to providing a unique immersive experience.
Samsung is tight-lipped about the specifics of its first XR headset but mentions it will feature “advanced displays,” a see-through mode, and natural multimodal input. A Qualcomm processor will power the inside of the headset. The headset will work with Google Gemini, which can discuss what you see, and can be controlled using voice commands.
Samsung does not reveal other details, nor the release date of the device. Google’s announcement about Android XR indicates the device will be available in 2025.
