Samsung has released a new line of Odyssey monitors for gamers, each of the three models has its own bright technological «highlight».
The company is trying to revive interest in three-dimensional images with the Odyssey 3D monitor. Another model, the Odyssey OLED G8, combines several screen quality features that Samsung calls «industry firsts». Those who like the widest possible view when gaming can check out the ultra-wide Odyssey G9.
Odyssey OLED G8 — «highest pixel density»
OLED G8 (G81SF) monitors are available in 27″ and 32″ diagonals. The first of them has a density of 166 PPI, «the highest pixel density in the industry for screens of this size». Odyssey OLED G8 is also named «the industry’s first 4K monitor with a refresh rate of 240 Hz». With the new 4K QD-OLED displays, Samsung promises improved detail, color reproduction, and contrast of the VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400.

Glare Free technology reduces the effect of glare. The AI processor improves the quality of low-resolution content. The company claims «the industry’s first pulsating heat pipe to dissipate heat» it does so 5 times better than conventional cooling systems. Better heat dissipation protects the monitor from burn-in.
The Odyssey OLED G8 has a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time. The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC frame synchronization technologies.
Odyssey G9 — curved ultra-wide screen
The 49″ Odyssey G9 (G91F) has a 1000R dual QHD display with a 1000R curvature. It supports 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, as well as AMD FreeSync Premium Pro synchronization. Image quality characteristics are confirmed by VESA DisplayHDR 600 and HDR10+ GAMING certificates.

The large screen features «Picture by Picture» and «Picture in Picture» multitasking options. You can view images from two devices at the same time, with size adjustment. Auto Source Switch+ technology detects connected devices and automatically displays them when you turn on.
Three-dimensional image on Odyssey 3D
Odyssey 3D 27″ monitor (G90XF) presented at CES 2025 provides a surround experience without the need for special glasses. «Advanced eye tracking technology and a patented lenticular lens provide a natural-looking, high-definition 3D image». Samsung says it is actively collaborating with leading game developers to «maximize the benefits» of 3D technology.
The monitor has the function of converting video to 3D using AI. Each scene of compatible content is analyzed and converted to reduce eye strain. Samsung Odyssey 3D has a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and 4K resolution. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC.
