The second official trailer for «28 years later» —, the long-awaited sequel to Columbia Pictures’ zombie horror film, has been released. This time, without Cillian Murphy, but with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jodie Comer in the lead roles.
The movie is set «28 years later», which filmed mostly on iPhone 15The current report comes almost three decades after the a rage virus has broken out of a biological weapons lab and sent people into forced quarantine. One of these groups lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, securely protected dam — and this is the familyJamie (Taylor-Johnson), Ayla (Comer), and Spike (Alfie Williams), whose peace is disturbed when they leave their shelter and discover «the secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but also the survivors of».
In the new video, you can see a group of soldiers confronting a representative of the infected (or a new human mutation), as well as a crazed priest welcoming a pack of the undead, and the aforementioned family itself with a share of the relatively peaceful life on the island, which is disrupted in the next few seconds. The rest of the cast includes Ralph Fiennes, who plays Dr. Kelson and gives a stern warning in the trailer:
«There are many kinds of death. And some are a little better than others».
Firstthe trailer of the movie, which was released in December, collected 60 million views per day — this isa record for 2024 and the second result for horror films in general. Interestingly, the video confused fans who recognized one of the zombies as Cillian Murphy — although the character, as it turned out, was not, played by British art dealer and fashion model Angus Neill.
Director Danny Boyle has previously confirmed that Murphy will appear in one of the new films in the franchise (yes, it will be a trilogy, although there is no money for the last movie yet), but in the version of Nia Da Costa, who shoots the next two — one called «28 years later: Temple of Bones».
In addition to Boyle, screenwriter Alex Garland and cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle returned to the franchise. The first part of «28 Years Later» will debut in cinemas around the world on June 20 (probably a day earlier in Ukraine).
