David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper in «Stranger Things», spoke about the upcoming fifth season and how the cast reacted to the final episode.
«At the end of the episode — when we read it — everyone was crying. There was uncontrollable crying for the last 20 minutes. Noah Schnapp was my favorite», — Harbour said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via Deadline).
Harbour added that he can be critical of the show because he is one of the cast members, but the last episode, in his opinion, is definitely the best moment of «Stranger Things».
«They landed the plane, and it’s the best episode they’ve ever done,» the actor said, hinting at the scale of the series.
At the same time, Harbour notes that the actors’ emotions were caused not only by the dramatic nature of the episode, but also by sadness for what they would have to say goodbye to.
«It was their childhood. They started acting in the series when they were 11-12 years old. 10 years have passed and we see this idea — it is extremely beautiful. Great episode and great season. You will definitely enjoy it».
Earlier, the editor of «Stranger Things» said that one of the main tasks for the creators in the fifth and last season was «not to repeat the mistakes of Game of Thrones», and also announced a larger scale than in previous seasons.
The series «Stranger Things», inspired by the works of Stephen King, began airing on Netflix in 2016 — and since then, the show has remained one of the most popular on the platform. The fourth season of Stranger Things was released in two parts in May and July 2022set a record — in the first 28 days, viewers spent more than a billion hour watching the series (1.35 billion hours to be exact). The fifth season will debut on Netflix in 2025.
