The developers have taken care of those who freeze up before choosing dialogues in RPGs.
Ubisoft will introduce a special «canonical mode» in Assassin’s Creed Shadows that will automatically select all «correct» lines in dialogues and plot twists for the user.
Project manager Jonathan Dumont said about the features of the innovation on Reddit.
«The choice has the greatest impact on recruiting allies and romantic relationships with characters. Since fans were divided on the issue of branching dialogues, we added the Canon Mode» option,” he explained.
The new system will be a lifesaver for players who often hesitate before important decisions in RPGs. Canon Mode guarantees a canonical storyline, which is especially important for the sequence of events in future installments of the series.
Players will be able to complete tasks in any order thanks to the non-linear campaign. According to Dumont, «each storyline has a coherent story with key moments that introduce more linear and cinematic narrative sections».
The game will feature the ability to complete missions as two characters — Naoe and Yasukewhich will have a significant impact on the development of events.
«We give you the opportunity to complete many missions as both Naoe and Yasuke, which may affect the development of some storylines,», — the project manager added.
Release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows postponed from November to February 14, 2025. The developers spent additional time improving the mechanics of parkour and attack repulsion. «We were able to make changes to the parkour system, refine the parry mechanics, and work on cinematic transitions. For example, we were experiencing some stickiness in the parkour, so the delay allowed us to speed up the response to inputs and fix the behavior on rooftops that was interfering with the fluidity of Naoe’s moves,» Dumont said.
