Garmin launches ComingUp — a new (and free) smartwatch app with to-do lists and reminders

The Connect IQ store now has a new free program for Garmin devices called ComingUp, which allows you to manage your to-do list right from your smartwatch.

Garmin ComingUp can connect to various third-party apps — Google Tasks, Todoist, or Microsoft To Do lists — and synchronizes tasks in real time. You can customize the notifications that go out to your watch and edit your to-do lists right from your device using the in-app QWERTY keyboard.

ImportantFor all these functions to work, ComingUp needs to be allowed to run in the background, and this, according to Garmin, may affect the battery life of the smartwatch.

The Garmin ComingUp app is compatible with a wide range of the brand’s smartwatches, including the ones presented recently Tactix 8 and  Descent G2, as well as Fenix 8, Forerunner 255 and vivoactive 5, etc. (the full list is available in the Connect IQ store).

At the same time, several users (via Notebookcheck) noted that the program does not work on some supposedly compatible models, such as Venu 3 and Forerunner 955 Solar. There are also complaints about incomplete synchronization, but hopefully this will be fixed with the next update.

Garmin releases Tactix 8 — military-grade smartwatch with AMOLED display, ballistic calculator and price starting at $1299
