In honor of the anniversary, EA has announced the release of The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection for PC. Both are available separately or together in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.
The games include all the expansion packs and almost all the content packs: it looks like the The Sims 2: Legacy Collection the IKEA Home Stuff package from 2008 is missing. The edition collections contain some bonus content: the first The Sims gets something called the Throwback Fit Kit, and The Sims 2 has an additional Grunge Revival Kit.
The Sims 1 was released on disk only, and for years it was officially only available from a physical copy — making it problematic to save and install, let alone add to the game. The Sims 2 was recently available in the Ultimate Collection on the EA Origin store, but this version was released in 2014.
But do not rush to rejoice, because the first «happy» users complain technical problems of the new edition. The current assessment of both versions is mixed, and while the second game has a 50/50 split, the first is about 3 to 2 in favor of the negative. The problem has been constant crashes in the games for at least some users, while others have not experienced any trouble.
On Steam, the re-release of the first The Sims costs 699₴, the second — 799₴, and The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle is available for 999₴. the latter option also includes The Sims 4The Sims 4 Grunge Revival Kit, The Sims 4 Throwback Fit Kit, The Sims Legacy CoLegacy Collection.
