Blumhouse has revealed the first teaser for «M3GAN 2.0» —, the sequel to the hit sci-fi horror film starring a killer doll.
In the teaser, presented at the 2025 Grammy Awards, the doll performed several dance moves to «Femininomenon» Chappelle Roan, after the singer performed at the event.
У the first movie about «M3GAN» (Model 3 Generative Android), we were told about a girl named Cady (Violet McGraw) who lives with her Aunt Gemma (Allison Williams) after her parents died in a car accident. Gemma has created an experimental android robot — primarily designed as a companion for children, but in the case of Cady, the doll believes it must protect the girl from all threats, even by killing her «enemies».
The film grossed $181 million at the box office on a budget of just $12 million, so it’s no surprise that it received a sequel and even spinof «Soulm8te»scheduled for 2026.
The sequel takes place two years after the events of the original film, and Gemma has become a well-known inventor and advocate for government oversight of artificial intelligence. The M3GAN technology has been stolen and used by a powerful defense contractor to create a new version of artificial intelligence called Amelia, which is expected to spiral out of control. An adult Cady, who follows in the footsteps of her inventor auntresurrects the first doll and adds updates so that it can confront Amelia and save humanity.
In addition to McGraw and Williams, the film also stars Jen Van Epps, Jemaine Clement, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Timm Sharp, Aristotle Atari, and Ukrainian actress Ivanna Sakhno.
The premiere of «M3GAN 2.0» is scheduled for June 27, 2025.
