The NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti video card was sold for $1.63. A visitor to the American online store Newegg shared a photo of the found offer (now the product has been removed). Unfortunately, the refurbished NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti cost $400 to ship, making it uncompetitive with other similar graphics cards on Newegg. The payment for the video card was made in four payments of $0.41 each.
The product card did not contain any information about the video card itself, except that it was a 1080 Ti with 11 GB of internal memory. The photos show MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Triowhich cost $799 when it was released 7 years ago — at that time it was one of the highest prices for consumer graphics cards.
The seller of the Creator Store promised that the video card would be «80-90% new», in good condition, and with 100% testing before patching. Creator — is a Shanghai-based «young fashion» brand that also sells a number of PC components. The score of 3.7 is not the lowest and shows that the store is at least not 100% fraudulent.
Among the items with a shipping cost of $400 — a gaming PC, a Vive Pro VR headset, and some PCIe expansion cards. Other items don’t ship for $400, but the prices seem to be written at random. A 2TB Samsung SSD is on sale for only $80, along with a $500 Transformer action figure.
Those who hoped for cheaper pickup delivery were also out of luck. The NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti for $1.63 was only available for delivery in the US. The Creator Store does offer free returns within 30 days, but its return policy seems overly complicated, with several easy ways to avoid returns. Probably no one was going to return the $400 either.
