Steven Knight, the creator of the “Peaky Blinders” franchise, has announced more projects in the “universe” of the wildly popular Shelby crime family following the conclusion of the feature film.
In a conversation with Times Radio journalist Jane Malcorrins, the screenwriter confirmed that production of the feature film has been completed, though its release date has yet to be set.
“It’s still too early for that, but you know, you can guess it’ll be around a year,” Knight said regarding the date.
When asked if there are any plans following the film’s completion, Steven Knight responded affirmatively:
“Interesting that you asked, because the film is coming out, and it’s not the end. … It won’t be the end, let’s just say that. I’m not saying anything about this [whether it will be a film or a series]”.
The BBC series “Peaky Blinders” consisted of six seasons and concluded in 2022. Its finale was not the end of the story for Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy. Photos from the film set appeared online shortly after filming began in late September. Alongside the main star, the film features Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Stephen Graham. According to Steven Knight, the film is set during World War II.
