Trailer «The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep» — Netflix anime based on Sapkowski’s story will be released in February

Netflix released the trailer for the anime “The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep” based on the story by Andrzej Sapkowski “A Little Sacrifice”. A lot of familiar elements, but everyone’s faces are like supermen’s.

Interestingly, in the English version, Geralt is voiced by Doug Cockle, who was his voice in The Witcher games. However, in the video, The Witcher seems more emotional, and his face more resembles Henry Cavill in this role. Overall, a multitude of perfectly correct faces in the frame are immediately noticeable. This somewhat contrasts with the spirit of Sapkowski’s works, where Geralt was by no means a superman.

The Witcher series actors also participate. Joey Batey returned as Jaskier, and the animated character really looks like him, while Anya Chalotra voices Yennefer, who turned out not so similar. Essi, who occupies a central place in the story, is originally voiced by Kristina Ren.

The official synopsis of the anime states: “Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, was hired to investigate a series of attacks in a coastal village, and he finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and sea dwellers. He must rely on friends – old and new – to unravel the mystery before the hostility between the two kingdoms escalates into war.”

Initially, “The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep” was supposed to be released at the end of 2024. But now the release is scheduled for February 11.
