The «Lord of the Rings» series has renewed its cast — The Windows from «Stranger Things» will play «new love» Galadriel

The third season of the «Lord of the Rings series is expected to start filming in the spring: The Rings of Power» will start in the spring, so announcements about the renewal of the cast are slowly appearing.

So far, Eddie Marsan (Inspector Lestrade in «Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows») and Jamie Campbell Bower (Henry Crill and the Windows in «Stranger Things») have been brought in to join the series.

According to IGN, Bover will get a «lead and a» recurring role, while Marsan will appear in some episodes. Meanwhile Deadline citing casting details, clarifies that the «Stranger Things» star will play a handsome knight of high birth (codename Arlen) and, presumably, the new love interest of Galadriel (Morved Clarke), who suffered in season two from the true identity of Halbrand, aka Sauron (Charlie Vickers).

It should be noted that Bover previously stated that he was unlikely to ever play a villain again, as Vekna’s role was experienced solely through the help of a psychotherapist.

As for Marsan, his character was given the codename Dromm, which already seems to hint at belonging to the dwarves. It is noted that the role required a Scottish accent, and the character will be someone’s brother.

Last week, Amazon has officially confirmed work on the third season of The Lord of the Rings «The Lord of the Rings» — with events that will make a «major» leap in time and focus on Sauron’s efforts to create the One Ring. Season one is still Prime Video’s biggest television premiere to date, while season two was the season that collected the largest number of views compared to other series’ sequels. Earlier, the creators also stated that will shoot the show as long as it is watched by millions of viewers.
