Huawei has released the Mate XT Ultimate Design — the world’s first triple smartphone. When folded, it is the same thickness as the Samsung Galaxy Fold6, as the photo shows.
Thus, the three-part smartphone with two hinges is as thin as the Samsung with only two halves. It is not yet known how durable it is, but this photo is surprising. It is being actively discussed on Reddit.
Actually, not quite: technically Huawei Mate XT is 12.8 mm thick, and Fold6 is 12.1 mm thick, so it’s thinner. But to the eye, the 0.7 mm difference is almost imperceptible. And yet, Huawei folds three times and has a 10.7″ screen compared to the Fold6’s 7.6″.
Samsung fans’ argument — the Korean company is much more careful about strength and durability when it comes to foldable devices. All the time since the release of the first Galaxy Fold (2019), Samsung has allegedly spent on improving the little things to make sure it has the best strength and durability.
Samsung Galaxy Folds, on the other hand, have been looking pretty much the same for years. With each generation, foldable smartphones get only small changes. Most of these improvements are because Samsung is probably very slow to solve problems, while the Chinese manufacturer has become a real innovator in this niche. Be that as it may, the joint photo of the two high-tech phones is impressive.
